DAYS 9-15 of 30-Day NHL Challenge

Ok i really am behind on this one lol. so here we go

Day 9. Your favorite Northeast division team

 I don’t have preference in that division. I equally like Boston, Toronto and Montreal.

Day 10. Answer honestly: which team has the best logo?

I like Hawks logo. I was really disappointed in their SC ring. Seriously! Your team has one of the most bad@$$ logos in the league and you make it all clear diamonds? Such a fail.

I also like old Mighty Ducks logo done in new colors. Really looking forward to 20th season in franchise for some jerseys that would call back to that logo.

Day 11. Your favorite defenseman

Oh that’s tough… Scotty Niedermayer has retired… Ruslan Salei was killed on that Lokomotiv airplane… Chris Pronger is done for the season and maybe the rest of his career too… 

i’d like to point out two youngster who i think one day will be franchise Norris worthy defensemen. Cam Fowler (12th overall?? really? that kid is golden!) and Slava Voynov (is there a way to steal him from freaking Kings?)

Day 12. Your favorite NHL rivalry

There are many. But honestly i don’t care for the rivalry that doesn’t involve my team. I will gladly watch the game, but i might as well be watching TB vs Nucks. If the game is dynamic and entertaining, which sometimes rivalry games are and sometimes are not.

I do enjoy watching Ducks vs Wings because of Play offs history. I also like watching Ducks vs. Canucks because those games are usually never boring. I mean a Halloween game few years ago when it went from 2-1 Ducks to 5-2 Nucks then to 6-5 Nucks with Perry tying it in the last 10 seconds with the game ending with Nucks win in 13th (!!!!!!) round of shoot out. Of course that game is rather rare, but Nucks-Ducks games are usually very dynamic and high-scoring.

Day 13. Your opinion of Gordie Howe

Mr. Hockey :) unfortunately i never saw him play. I was born after he retired. So I appreciate and admire the stats he has piled up during his career but to me he is just a stat sheet on wikipedia. He influenced a lot of players that i like and watch now. He was an ultimate all around player: he could fight, he could score, he could dish out a pass. Times have changed: now there are fighters and there are scorers, so Gordie Howe hat-trick is more special. It’s either a mean, physycal, kick@$$ effort from a skill player, or a rare outburst of offensive game from a fighter.

Day 14. Do you have any teams that you just despise? Which ones?

I don’t despise teams, they are people who are working hard day in and day out putting their health on the line to make people in the stands happy. 

But i do despise some fan bases. Kings and Preds to be exact. No class, no respect, and in Preds case very little knowledge of hockey… questions like “why did he get 4 minutes penalty? so what if there is a little blood? after hi-stick?” READ THE DAMN RULES!

Day 15. Which team has the best song? 

In no particular order the goal songs i like the most are Bro Hymn (primary for Ducks and Flyers), Kernkraft 400 (primary for Bruins and secondary for few other teams including Ducks), Chelsea Dagger (if nothing changed it’s only in Chicago)…

DAY 8 of 30-Day NHL Challenge

 How long have you been a hockey fan?

According to my dad, from a very tender age. Hockey was the only sport he could watch with me (live or on tv) and i wouldn’t bug him about anything other than the game or the rules.

Serious and extremely devoted i became around 2006. Since then my life revolves around hockey.
